Welcome! Festival

During the 2015 Welcome!Festival more than 200 expats flocked to the Meelfabriek to get a taste of Leiden, City of Discoveries, and everything this wonderful city has to offer. They exchanged views about our hospitality and activities for and by expats. The festival was fully booked, almost three times the 2014 number subscribed.

They seized the opportunity to enjoy a glass of locally brewed Mondial beer, tailor-made for this special occasion. And explored Leiden’s past, discovered its future. Diving into our versatile world of science, art, music and sports. The guests got inspired by meeting new people.

The Friends of the Singelpark explained our own central park. And how it relates to the ambiance of the city, providing space for contemplation, sunbathing, enjoying friends company and sharing the joy of living and working here.

The enthousiastic reactions will result in 2016 in an English-language folder and several webpages about the Singelpark. In the meantime several expats have already subscribed to become a Friend, to enjoy spending some free time as volunteer.
